 {x}^{2}  +  { \frac{1}{5x} }^{2}  =  \frac{43}{5}  \\  {(x +  \frac{1}{5x} )}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  { \frac{1}{5x} }^{2}  + 2  =  \frac{43}{5}  + 2 =  \frac{53}{5}

therefor( x+1/5x)2=53/10

hence x+1/5x=+√53/√10,-√53/√10

Answer:

±3

Step-by-step explanation:

Based on the identify (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab

(x + 1/5x)² = (x)² + (1/5x)² + 2(x)(1/5x)

(x + 1/5x)² = x² + 1/25x² + 2/5

Substitute (x² + 1/25x²) = 8 3/5

(x + 1/5x)² = 8 3/5 + 2/5

(x + 1/5x)² = 9

x + 1/5x = ±√9

x + 1/5x = ±3

Answer: ±3
