let the sale price of an article be ₹100.So sale price of 40 articles =40(100)= ₹4000. It is given that sale price of 40 articles = printed price of 32 articles=>
4000= printed price of 32 articles => then the printed price of each article =4000/32= ₹125. Discount allowed =125-100/125×100=25/125×100= 1/5×100 =20% .Hope it helps you... Please mark me as Brainliest.

Discount = 40 - 32
= 8.
Rate of discount = (8/40) * 100
= 800/40
= 20%.
Therefore the rate of discount = 20%.
Hope this helps!
