According to conditions

x+x+7=53

2x+7=53

2x=53-7

2x=46

x=46/2

Seema is younger than Sheela by 7 years  (1st condition)

and the sum of their ages is 53.                  (2nd condtition)

Seema = x years and Sheela = y years

From first condition

x +7 = y        (1)     x = y - 7

From 2nd condition

x + y = 53     (2)

Adding 1 and 2   ( getting y )

(y - 7) + y = 53

2y = 53 +7 = 60

y = 30

and x = y-7 = 30 - 7 = 23

x = 23
