LHS =

 \frac{ {x}^{ - 1} +  {y}^{ - 1}  }{ {x}^{ - 1} }  +  \frac{ {x}^{ - 1} -  {y}^{ - 1}  }{ {y}^{ - 1} }

 = x( {x}^{ - 1}  +  {y}^{ - 1} ) + y( {x}^{ - 1}  -  {y}^{ - 1} )

 = 1 + x {y}^{ - 1}  + y {x}^{ - 1}  - 1

 =  \frac{x}{y}  +  \frac{y}{x}

 =  \frac{ {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2}  }{xy}

= RHS

Hence proved.
