Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

3. -5 is a root it means that x =-5 for 2x^2+px-15 = 0

so we put -5 in above equation to find the value of p :

  2(-5)^2 + p(-5) -15=0

 2(25)-5p-15=0

  50-5p-15=0

     35-5p=0

       -5p=-35

      p=7

now put the value of p in p(x^2+x)+k=0

    7(x^2+x)+k=0

       7x^2+7x+k=0

   and we know d=0 when equation have equal roots ,

  D=b^2-4ac

b=7

a=7

c=k

= (7)^2 -4(7)(k)

 = 49 -28k=0

   -28k=-49

   k= -49/-28

   k= 7/4

4.  if roots are real and distinct it means d>0 (discriminant 0  se bada hai ..i.e. 1,2,3...)

D= b^2-4ac

a=k

b=6

c=1

= (6)^2-4(k)(1)>0

=36-4k>0

when we factorise it we get ,

4k<36

k<9

hope you understand ..if not plz ask me . :)
