(iii) ✴️ Part ‘OB’ of the graph represent uniform acceleration .

✴️ And Part ‘BC’ of the graph represent uniform retardation .

(iv) We have know that, slope of Velocity-time graph gives acceleration .

✴️ So, At t = 0s , u = 0 m/s

At t = 2s , v = 10 m/s

\bigstar\:\rm{\purple{\boxed{a\:=\:\dfrac{v\:-\:u}{t}\:}}}

  • u = initial velocity
  • v = final velocity
  • t = time

\rm{\implies\:a\:=\:\dfrac{10\:-\:0}{2}\:}

\rm{\boxed{\implies\:a\:=\:5\:m/s^2\:}}

\large\underline\mathrm\red{Solution :-}

(iii) Which parts of the graph represents uniform acceleration and uniform retardation ?

→ In the graph, OB represent uniform acceleration .

→ BC represent uniform retardation .

(iv) Calculate acceleration .

→ Acceleration is given by slope of velocity time graph i.e. v - t graph.

  • Here, At t = 0 sec , u= 0 m/s
  • At t = 2 sec , v = 10 m/s .

We \: know \: that → a \frac {v - u}{t}

Here,

  • u = initial velocity
  • v = final velocity
  • t = time taken

a = \frac {10-0}{2}

\boxed{→ a = 5 m/s²}
