Question:

A body starts from rest with accelaration 2 m/s² .

The distance travelled in 4^{th} second is:

Given:

 Accelaration = 2 ms^{-2}

 Time = 4^{th} sec

Concept:

Here the initial velocity is 0.

We know:

s_{n} = u + \dfrac{1}{2}a(2n - 1)

Solution:

s_{n} = 0 + \dfrac{1}{2} × 2(2 × 4 - 1)

s_{n} = 0 + \dfrac{1}{2} × 2 × 7

s_{n} = 7 m.

Reference:

Here the initial velocity is taken as 0 , because the body has started from rest....
