it is given that all shaded strip have equal base i. e. 5cm.

also their Height is same i.e. 8cm

Then we can say that total shaded region = 3 × Shaded strip.

( as there are 3 strips we can add all their area to find full shaded region)

Now, we can divide one strip into Two Triangles with area = \frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times 8 \\

If we calculate we get 20 cm² , but we have 2 triangle in one strip so the area of one strip is 40 cm².

And the total area of shaded region = 3 × 40 cm²

= 120 cm²
