The principle of superposition is valid as it helps us to find the gravitational field inside a solid mater wiwith a cavity .

Statement 2 is valid if there does not exist a third large body within the viscinity of the first two bodies asit will interfere with the force acting per unit mass which is basically the gravitational field intensity.
