     preparation:

                by heating baking soda (NaHCO3)

              2NaHCO3-------------  Na2CO3 +  CO2  + H2O

the NaCO3 is recrystalised in 10 water molecules to form washing soda

                      Na2CO3 + 10H2O--------- Na2CO3.10H2O

       2) water alone cannot conduct electricty. the salts present in it are responsible for conductivity. distilled water has no such salts and thus does not conduct electricity where as rainwater has the salts so it conducts electricity
