(ii) The chemical process occurring during the two changes is:-

Oxidation and reduction.

(iii) The chemical equations involved are:-

X is Copper (Cu).

Y is Copper Oxide (CuO).

The first process is Oxidation while second process is Reduction.

       Equations:-

               2Cu(X) + O2   ---------->   2CuO(black)

              CuO(Y) + H2   ----------->  Cu + H2O

Hope it helped.
