Answer:

Given

Number of observations =50

Class interval frequency

0-10. 4

10-20 4

20-30 f1

30-40 10

40-50 f2

50-60 8

60-70 5

As we know sum of frequency = number of observations

4+4+f1+10+f2+8+5

f1+f2+31=50

f1+f2=50-31

f1+f2=19. - - - - - - - - (1)

Now

Class interval frequency

5 4

15 4

25 f1

35 10

45 f2

55 8

65 5

(20+60+25f1+350+45f2+440+325) /50 =38.2

25f1+45f2+1195=38.2x50

25f1+45f2+1195=1910

25f1+45f2=1910-1195

25f1+45f2=715

Taking 5 common out

5(5f1+9f2) =715

5f1+9f2=715/5

5f1+9f2=143. - - - - - - - - (2)

So here we have two unknown variables and two equations

So now we can simply find out the value of 2 unknown values f1 and f2

Equation 1->. f1+f2=19

Equation 2->. 5f1+9f2=143

From equation 1 we get

f1= 19-f2. - - - - - - - (3)

Niw putting the value of f1 in equation 2 we get,

5(19-f2)+9f2=143

95-5f2+9f2=143

95+4f2=143

4f2=143-95

4f2=48

f2=48/4

f2=12

Now putting the value of f2 in equation 3 we get,

f1=19-12

f1=7

So our answer is f1=7,f2=12
