Answer:

hi check the attached image for the answer with long division method.

if you don't know long division method, kindly refer to some youtube videos or google "How to find the square root of a number" and you will find plenty of detailed articles.

another method you can use is estimation method.

just for an understanding, i'll show how to find square root of 3.

STEP 1 : we know that the nearest perfect square to 3 is 1 and 4.

STEP 2 : so, the square root of 3 will be between √1 = 1 and √4 = 2.

STEP 3 : now 1.5 is the middle most rational number between 1 and 2.

check whether 1.5² = 3.

1.5×1.5 = 2.25

therefore, 1.5² ≠ 3.

1.5² < 3.

STEP 4 : 1.5² < 3.

therefore, let's try with a bigger number.

1.6² = 2.56 ≠ 3

1.7² = 2.89 ≠ 3

1.8² = 3.24 ≠ 3

therefore, square root of 3 is between 1.7 and 1.8

STEP 5 : let us try with numbers between 1.7 and 1.8

1.75² = 3.0625 ≠ 3

so, √3 < 1.75

1.71² = 2.9241 ≠ 3

1.72² = 2.9584 ≠ 3

1.73² = 2.9929 ≈ 3.

so, √3 is approximately 1.73.

as you can see, this method is really tedious. i personally prefer long division method over this. anyway finding square root of imperfect squares in general is tedious. maybe there are some short tricks for finding this. check on youtube you might find something :)
