⇒y - 3 = 2x

⇒2x - y = -3---------------------- {eqn2}

By multiplying 2 in eqn (1) we get 6x - 14y= -20

By multiplying 3 in eqn (2) we get 6x - 3y= -9

By Subtracting both equations we get

  6x - 14y = -20

(-)6x - 3y =     -9

⇒-11y = -11

⇒ y = 1

By putting the value of y in eqn (2) we get

⇒2x - y = -3

⇒2 x-1= -3

⇒2 x= -3+1

⇒2 x= -2

⇒ x= -1

∴(x, y) = (-1, 1)
