• They comprise of phloem fibres, sieve tubes, sieve cells, phloem parenchyma and companion cells.
• Phloem is located on the outer side of the vascular bundle.
• Their movement is bidirectional.
• Phloem transports food materials that are prepared by the green parts of the plants to other parts of the plant.
• Does not provide mechanical support.
• Phloem is the living tissue, but not with the nucleus.
• Phloem forms a small part of the plant body.
