\huge\mathfrak{Question}

A well of diameter 3 m is dug 14 m deep. The soil taken out of it is spread evenly all around it to a width of 5m to form an embankment. Find the height of the embankment.

\huge\mathfrak{Answer}

According to the question:

volume of well = volume of embankment

Let height of the embankment =h m.

Volume of embankment=Volume of earth taken out.

π[(5+1.5)^2-(1.5)^2].h=π.(1.5)^2.(14)

(6.5+1.5)(6.5–1.5).h=2.25×14

h =(2.25×14)/(8×5)

h=0.787 m

Sidnike19: the width u have taken is wrong its 5m in question
sargamkashyap: hmm...i edited it
Sidnike19: thanks
Sidnike19: no its still wrong
Sidnike19: it will be 8× 5 because 6.5-1.5=5

d=3

r=3/2

h=14

v=2pie×radius×hieght

v=2×22/7×3/2×3/2×14

=99cm

let the width be base

so, height=v÷b=99÷5

=19.8

Sidnike19: wrong
