Answer:

Answer no : 3 =  120km/hr

Answer no : 4 = x/60

Explanation:

Solution of question 3:

So for the first 60km the train takes an hour. For the next 60km lets say it travels with a speed v km/hr. Then time taken to travel this 60km is

time = distance/speed, time taken = 60/v

Average speed is defined as,

Avg Speed = Tot. Distance travelled (60+60 km) / Tot. Time taken( 1 + (60/v))

And, this must be equal to 80, so equate,

80 = 120/(1+(60/v))

solve for v you get 120km/hr

========================================================

Solution : 4

Average speed = total length / total time

if x= distance AB in km then the two times to add are

Tab= x/40 and Tba= x/60

AvSpeed= 2*x/(x/50+x/70) = 2*60*40/(40+60) = 48km/hr

aayushkalia16: thank u so much
