Please solve these questions

(1) For the expression of traits Gene's provide only the potentiality and the environment provides the opportunity. Comment on the veracity of statement.

(2) Even if the character shows multiple allelism ,an individual will have two alleles for that character. Why?

1. Genes are either dominant or recessive in nature. The nature of the gene whether it should be dominant or recessive is decided by nature. The gene which helps in survival of the species is considered as dominant and the other is considered as recessive.
2. That case is called multiple allelism. How many ever the number of alleles be, there are only two types, dominant and recessive alleles. The number of alleles does not decide the change in that character.
3. Mutagens are chemical substances which induce the mutations in the nucleus. One fine example is X- Rays. Constant exposure to these X- Rays will alter the base sequence of a character thus inducing mutations.
