Answer: (i)x=120,y=120, z=60

              (ii) x = 58

             (iii)x = 17.5

             (iv)x = 65, y = 105, z = 75

Step-by-step explanation:

Before doing this question, keep in mind (As it is related with angles and straight lines)

01.Sum of the angles around a point is 360.

02. Vertically opposite angles are equal

03. Sum of the angles on a straight line is 180

Regarding equations,

01.To eliminate a term you have to insert its additive inverse to it.

02. Whatever changes you make in one side of the equation should be done in the other side too.

03. You have to do elimination in this order

       I Addition & Subtraction

      II Division

     III Multiplication

04. You have to bring unknown terms to one side and numbers to another side.

(i) y + x + \frac{x}{2} +z = 360

* x and z are vertically opposite angles . So they are equal. So we can write y as x too. So by adding x and z we can write it as 2x

* y and x/2 are vertically opposite angles . So they are equal. So we can write x/2 as y too. So by adding y and x/2 we can write it as (by multiplying x/2 by 2 ) x

So,

2x + x = 360

       3x=360

  3x\3 =360\3

        x= 120

x=z

So, z = 120

y = x/2

So, y = 120/2 = 60

x=120,y=120, z=60

(ii)If you notice the figure you can identify that

the angle in between the right angle and 32 degree is vertically opposite to x angle.

Which means they both should be equal.

Right angle, that angle (Equal to x) and 32 are in a straight line.

Sum of the angles on a straight line is 180

So, 90 + 32 + x = 180

             122 + x = 180

    122 + x -122 = 180 -122

                      x = 58

(iii)If you notice the figure you can identify that,

4x and 110 are in a straight line.

Sum of the angles on a straight line is 180

So,  4x + 110 = 180

4x + 110 -110 = 180 -110

                4x = 70

            4x/4 = 70/4

                 x = 17.5

(iv) If you notice the figure you can identify that,

x+10 and x+40 are in a straight line.

Sum of the angles on a straight line is 180

So,  x+10 + x+40  = 180

               2x + 50 = 180

        2x + 50 -50 = 180 -50

                    2x/2 = 130/2

                          x = 65

y and x+10 are in straight line

So,

y + x + 10 = 180

(x  = 65)

     y + 75 = 180

y + 75 -75 = 180 -75

             y = 105

z and y are in straight line

So,    105 + z = 180

z + 105 -105 = 180 -105

                 z = 75

x = 65, y = 105, z = 75
