$\frac{x}{2} + \frac{x}{8} = \frac{1}{8} \\ \frac{4x + x}{8} = \frac{1}{8} \\ \frac{5x}{8} = \frac{1}{8} \\ 5x = \frac{8}{8} \\ 5x = 1 \\ x = \frac{1}{5}$
