Explanation:

By equation of motion

v²-u²=2*a*s---------(1)

where v is the final velocity

U is the initial velocity

a is accelaration

s is the distance covered

since in free falling condition

initial velocity is zero and accelaration is due to gravity velocity after travelling h distance is v

do apply on the above equation (1)

we get

v²-0=2*g*h

v=√(2gh)

v=√2*√gh

since √2 is a constant it is represented by k

v=k√gh
