3^(4x + 1) = (1/9)^(x + 1)
3^(4x + 1) = (1/3^2)^(x + 1)
3^(4x + 1) = (3^(-2))^(x + 1)
3^(4x + 1) = 3^(-2x - 2)
equating the exponent as base is. same
4x + 1 = -2x - 2
4x + 2x = -2 - 1
6x = -3
x = -3/6
x = -1/2
