Given :

  • 5 persons completes a task in 4 days.

To find :

  • We need to find how many days would it take if number of workers is 4.

Assumption :

  • Let the number of days be x when number of workers are 4.

Solution :

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I case⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ll case

Number of workers⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀4

Number of days⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ x

Observing the given values we can say, as we increase the number of workers, time taken to complete the task would decrease.

\bf\:\therefore \bf\:They~are~in~inverse~proportion.

So, according to the inverse proportionality :

\tt\to\:5 \times 4 = 4 \times x

\tt\to\:20 = 4x

\tt\:or\:4x=20

\tt\to\:x=\cancel{\frac{20}{4}}

\tt\to\:\small\red{\tt\pmb{x~=~5}}

\bf\:Thus,

\bf\:⠀⠀⠀The~required~number~of~days~is~5.
