Explanation:

We have given;

radius of curvature = 20cm

magnification = 5

Image is virtual;

Formula to be applied;

Mirror formula : 1/f = 1/v + 1/u

Magnification : -v/u

In case of virtual image in mirror, v = +v.

From the magnification of the object, we can write;

-(+v)/u = 5

-v = 5u

v = -5u

Radius of curvature = 20cm

Thus, focal length = 20/2 = 10cm

Since, its concave mirror, thus focal length = -10cm;

Now, u or object distance equals;

1/f = 1/v + 1/u. (mirror formula)

1/(-10) = 1/(-5u) + 1/u

1/-10 = (-1 + 5)/5u

5u = 4 × (-10)

u = -40/5

u = -8 cm.

Its magnification is 5. Thus the image formed is 5 times larger than the object hieght. The image is virtual thus,

Magnification = +5.

That's all.
