let, breadth = x

length = x + 7

Area. = 170sq.cm

By the formula ,

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

170. = ( x + 7 ) × ( x )

170. = x square + 7

170 - 7 = x square

133. = x square

x. = 11.5cm

Now ,

length = x + 7 = 11.5 + 7 = 18.5

Therefore the length is 18.5 and breadth is 11.5.
