let note book is x .and text book is y.with the following condition x=y+10.
and 2x=120/3y=120 .
so
2x=3y
2 (y+10)=3y
y=20

let the cost of 1 textbook = x
then the cost of 3 textbooks = 3x
cost of 1 notebook = 10+x
cost of 2 notebooks = 2(10+x)
=20+2x
A/Q,
cost of 3 textbooks +cost of 2 notebooks=$120
3x+20+2x=120
5x=120-20
5x =100
x= 100÷5
x= 20

*cost of 3 textbooks = 3x = 3×20 = $60
cost of 2 notebooks = 20+2x =20+2×20=$60
