More information

Nerves or neurons :

Nerves or the neurons consists of three main parts– Cell body, Dendrites, Axon.

  • The cell body contains well defined nucleus, surrounded by granular cytoplasm.
  • Dendrites are the branched cytoplasmic projection, which conduct nerve impulses to the cyton.
  • The Axon is the long process from the cell body, which varies in size from few millimeters to even more than one meter in length. It is surrounded by a insulating sheath called myelin.

Types of Nerves :-

  • Sensory nerves – This nerves carry impulses from the sense organ to the brain
  • Motor nerves – This nerves carry impulses from the brain. to the sense organ, to do the action.
  • Association Nerves – This nerves are located in the rain and spinal cord, which interconnect the sensory nerves and motor nerves.

Types of nervous system :-

  • Central nervous system – This includes the brain and then spinal cord contained within the vertebral column
  • Peripheral nervous system – This includes the nerves that emerges and enter into the brain and spinal cord.

Brain :

The brain is consisted of three parts – Cerebrum, Cerebellum and Medula Oblangata.

Cerebrum (brain) –

The cerebrum is the largest portion of the brain. It helps people to think, to take decision, to memorize things and all. It plays the most important role.

Cerebellum (little brain) –

The cerebellum is much smaller area of the brain and is located below the cerebrum. The main party of the cerebellum is to maintain the balance of body and coordinate muscular activities. Injure to cerebellum may cause to death of a person. It is affected with alcohol.

Medulla Oblongata –

The medulla oblongata is the lowest part of the brain and is continued up-to the spinal cord. It's main function is to conduct impulses.
