Given:-

  • Mass of car A (m¹) = 1500kg

  • Initial velocity of car A (u¹) = 25m/s

  • Mass of car B (m²) = 1000Kg

  • Initial velocity of Car B (u²) = 15m/s.

  • Final velocity of Car A (v¹) = 20m/s

To Find:-

  • Final velocity of car B (v²)

Solution :-

By using Conservation of Momentum

u¹+u² = v¹ +v²

Put the value , we get

⟹ 1500×25 + 1000×15 = 1500×20 + 1000×v²

⟹ 37500 + 15000 = 30000 + 1000×v²

⟹ 52500 = 30000 + 1000×v²

⟹ 52500- 30000 = 1000×v²

⟹ 22500 = 1000×v²

⟹ 22500/1000 = v²

⟹ 22.5m/s = v²

⟹ v² = 22.5m/s

The Final velocity of the car B is 22.5m/s.

Given :-

For Car(A) :-

  • Mass (m1) = 1500kg
  • Initial velocity (u1) = 25m/s
  • Final velocity (v1) = 20m/s

For Car(B) :-

  • Mass (m2) = 1000kg
  • Initial velocity (u2) = 15m/s

To Find :-

  • The final velocity(v2) of car (B) .

Solution :-

By applying Conversation of momentum,

=> m1 × u1 + m2 × u2 = m1 × v1 + m2 × v2

[ Putting the values ]

=> 1500 × 25 + 1000 × 15 = 1500 × 20 + 1000 × v2

=> 37500 + 15000 = 30000 + 1000v2

=> 52500 = 30000 + 1000v2

=> 52500 - 30000 = 1000v2

=> 22500 = 1000v2

=> v2 = 22500/1000

=> v2 = 22.5m/s .

Hence,

  • The final velocity of car (B) is 22.5m/s.
