in the above figure the upper part is a trapezium so that area of trapezium, =

(sum length of parallel sides )(height)

2

» (12+8)(7)

2

»12+8×7

»20×7

2

»70cm^2

the lower part is a square

so that area of square = Side×side

» 8×8

»64cm^2

therefore the total area will be 134cm^2

hope this will help you out

Answer:

Area of square = a² = 8 × 8 or 8² = 64 cm² is the area of square

Area of trapezium = a + b / 2 × h , a = 12cm , b = 8cm , h = 15 - 8 = 7cm

Area if trapezium = 12 + 8 / 2 × 7 = 20 / 2 × 7 = 10 × 7 = 70 cm²

So the area of total figure = Area of trpezium + Area of square = 64 + 70 = 134cm²
