by cross multiplication, we get
4(7-x) =3(7+x)
28-4x=21+3x
28-21= 3x+4x
7=7x
7

7

b) 2(2x + 3)=3(x + 3)
4x + 6= 3x + 9
4x - 3x= 9- 6
x=3

c) 5(2-9y)=4(17-4y)
10-45y=68-16y
10-68=-16y+45y
-58=29y
-58÷29=y
-2=y

d) 5x=7(1-x)
5x=7-7x
5x+7x=7
12x=7
x=7/12
