A + B = 30

3(A+5) = B+5

3A + 15 = 30 - A +5

4A = 20

A = 5

B = 25

A be A's age
B be B's age

Let the age of A be x and B be y years.

Given that sum of ages of A and B is 30 years.

= > x + y = 30

= > x = 30 - y ----- (1)

After 5 years:

= > Age of A = x + 5.

= > Age of B = y + 5.

Given that After 5 years, A will be three times older than B.

= > x + 5 = 3(y + 5)

= > x + 5 = 3y + 15

= > 30 - y + 5 = 3y + 15

= > -y = 3y - 20

= > -4y = -20

= > y = 5.

Substitute y = 5 in (1), we get

= > x = 30 - y

= > x = 30 - 5

= > x = 25.

Therefore,

The ages of A = 25 years.

The age of B = 5 years.

Hope this helps!
