3 -  \sqrt{3}

 =  \sqrt{3}  \times  \sqrt{3}  -  \sqrt{3}

Here, we cannot cancel out √3

 \sqrt{3}  \times  \sqrt{3}  -  \sqrt{3}

 =  \sqrt{3} ( \sqrt{3}  - 1)

So, your answer is wrong. we cannot write that

3 -  \sqrt{3}  =  \sqrt{3}
