Answer:

x,y,z are in AP.

•°• the common difference= y-x = z-y

=> y+y=x+z

=> y-z= x-y

now, y-z, x-y are in GP,

•°• the common ratio= y-z/x-y

Hence proved.

we are given Tx , Ty & Tz of an A.P are in G.P

Ty / Tx = Tz / Ty = R = Ty - Tz / Tx - Ty

( Ratio prop. )

R = [ a + ( y - 1 ) d ] - [ a + ( z - 1 ) d ] / [ a + ( x - 1 ) d ] - [ a + ( y - 1 ) d ]

= ( y - z ) d / ( x - y ) d

= y - z / x - y..
