Given : in a class 70% students can speak english, 65% can speak hindi and 27% can speak neither english nor hindi.

124 students can speak both the languages

To Find  :  the no. of students who can only speak hindi.

Solution:

Total = n(E)  + n( H)  -  n ( H ∩ E )   + Neither

=> 100 % = 70 %  +  65 %    -  n ( H ∩ E )  +   27 %

=>  n ( H ∩ E ) = 62 %

n ( H ∩ E ) = 62 %  = 124

=> Total students = 200

no. of students who can only speak hindi.. = n(H)  -  n ( H ∩ E )

= 65 % - 62 %  =  3 %

3 % = 6

Hence no. of students who can only speak hindi.. = 6
