Find the value of x ?

Solution :-

Given in-equation is -17/2 < (-1/2) - 4x ≤ 15/2

=> -17/2 < (-1-8x)/2 ≤ 15/2

On multiplying with 2 then

=> 2(-17/2) < 2(-1-8x)/2 ≤ 2(15/2)

=> -17 < -1-8x ≤ 15

On adding 1 in the in-equation then

=> -17+1 < -1-8x+1 ≤ 15+1

=> -16 < -8x ≤ 16

On dividing by 8 in the in-equation then

=> -16/8 < -8x/8 ≤ 16/8

=> -2 < -x ≤ 2

=> 2 > x ≥ - 2

=> -2 ≤ x < 2

=> x € [-2,2)

Answer :-

The solution set = { x : -2 ≤ x < 2, x€R }

The possible values of x = -2,-1,0,1
