Topic :-

Linear Equation

Given :-

\dfrac{4x}{9}+6=6x+8

To Find :-

Value of 'x'.

Method Used :-

Transposition

In this method we generally transpose a number from Left or Right Hand Side to Right or Left Hand Side. To transpose, we apply same operators with a number on both sides.

Solution :-

\dfrac{4x}{9}+6=6x+8

Subtract 8 from both sides,

\dfrac{4x}{9}+6-8=6x+8-8

\dfrac{4x}{9}-2=6x

Subtract 4x/9 from both sides,

\dfrac{4x}{9}-\dfrac{4x}{9}-2=6x-\dfrac{4x}{9}

-2=6x-\dfrac{4x}{9}

Solving further,

-2=\dfrac{54x-4x}{9}

-2=\dfrac{50x}{9}

Multiply 9 both sides,

-2\times 9=\dfrac{50x}{9}\times 9

-18=50x

Divide by 50 both sides,

\dfrac{-18}{50}=\dfrac{50x}{50}

\dfrac{-18}{50}=x

Reducing it,

\dfrac{-9}{25}=x

Answer :-

So, value of x is \dfrac{-9}{25}.
