Answer:
The position of person from origin is 10 m West.
Explanation:
Given that,
A person moves 30 m North then 20 m east than 30 root 2 meter southwest.
The movement along north direction, Vector OY =
The movement along east direction, Vector YX=
Movement along south west direction, XZ

Vector XZ==30i + 30j
Using triangle vector law,
OX = 20i + 30j
XZ = 30i + 30j
In triangle XZO, OZ is resultant from origin.
OZ = OX-XZ
OZ = 20i + 30j - 30i - 30j
OZ = -10i
Hence, The position of person from origin is 10 m West.

Answer:

10m along west

Explanation:

30 m North = 30 j^

20 m east = 20 Î

30√2 south west.

Now,

Its components :

Along x - axis = 30√2 cos 45°

                      = 30√2 * 1/√2

                     = 30  Î

Along y - axis = 30√2 sin 45°

                      = 30√2 * 1/√2

                      = 30 j^

Then,

Net movement =  30 j^ + 20  Î - 30  j^ - 30 Î

                          = -10 Î

This shows the displacement of 10 m towards west from origin

Hope it helps!
