To Find :  Matrix x

Solution:

xA= B

A is of order  = 2 * 3

B is of order   = 2 * 3

Hence x must be of order 2 * 2

so that x * A = B

2 By 2 Matrix into 2 By 3 matrix  = 2 by 3 matrix

$x=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}a&b\\c&d \end{array}\right]$

$\left[\begin{array}{ccc}a&b\\c&d \end{array}\right] \left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&2&3\\4&5&6 \end{array}\right] =\left[\begin{array}{ccc}-7&-8&-9\\2&4&6 \end{array}\right]$

$\left[\begin{array}{ccc}a+4b&2a+5b&3a+6b\\c+4d&2c+5d&3c+6d\end{array}\right] =\left[\begin{array}{ccc}-7&-8&-9\\2&4&6 \end{array}\right]$

a + 4b = -7  => 2a + 8b = -14

2a + 5b = -8

=> 3b = - 6   => b = - 2    a  = 1  

c + 4d  = 2  =>  2c + 8d = 4

2c + 5d = 4

=> d = 0     c  = 2

$x=\left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&-2\\2&0 \end{array}\right]$

Hence option  a) is correct
