3)Aerated drinks

4)Mass of solution = Mass of benzene+Mass of CCl4 = 22g+122g = 144g

Mass% of benzene = Mass of benzene × 100 /Mass of solution

= (22/144)×100

= 15.28%

Mass % of CCl4 = 100% - 15.28% = 84.72%

5)The maximum amount of solute in grams which can dissolve in 100g of solvent to form the saturated solution at that particular temperature.

6)(i) Nature of gas - Gases like H2,O2 dissolve less where as CO2,HCl dissolves highly in solvent.

(ii) Temperature - Solubility of a gas decreases with increase in temperature and vice versa

7)As we know, according to Henry's law, solubilities increases with increase in pressure hence both nitrogen and oxygen will dissolve in blood and other fluids.

There is no problem if oxygen is there as it is used up for metabolism but nitrogen which is also dissolved will form bubbles when the diver comes to the atmospheric pressure and these bubbles affect nerve impulses and give rise to a disease known as bend.Hence to avoid these diver uses helium gases with nitrogen and oxygen.

8) The pressure exerted by the vapours in equilibrium with liquid/solution at a particular temperature.

Factors

(i)Nature of liquid - Weaker are the intermolecular forces greater is the amount of vapour

(ii) Temperature - Higher the temp, greater is the vapour pressure and vice versa.

9) Then vapour pressure will lower of the solvent.

10)(i) The pressure should be law and the temperature should be high.

(ii) The gas should not undergo compound formation with the solvent.

For example, the law is not applicable in case of dissolution of ammonia in water because it undergoes compound formation followed by dissociation.
