THE ANSWER IS HERE,

x=3/4

let side of a equilateral triangle be x .

Then In triangle ADB.

By Pythagoras theorem,

AB^2=AD^2+BD^2

=> a^2=AD^2+(a/2)^2

=> AD^2=a^2-a^2/4

=> AD^2= 3a^2/4

According to question.

AD^2/BC^2= (3a^2/4)/a^2

=> 3/4

so, x= 3/4.
