Area of semi-circle PQR = ½π(9/2)2

= 81π/8 cm2

Area of region circle, A = π(9/4)2

= 81π/16 cm2

Area of region (B + C) = π(3/2)2

= 9π/4 cm2

Area of region D = ½π(3/2)2

= 9π/8 cm2

Area of shaded region = Area of semicircle - Area of circle - Area of region (B + C) + Area of region D

= 81π/8 - 81π/16 - 9π/4 + 9π/8

= 63π/16 cm2

= 99/8 cm2

semicircle E of radius 4.5 cm – (area of circle D of diameter 4.5cm + area of semicircle A of diameter 3cm)

Semicircles B and C cancel out each other. So there is no need to add B and subtract C.

Diameter of circle D = 4.5 = 9/2. Therefore, radius = 9/4
Diameter of semicircle A = 3 = Therefore, radius = 3/2

Area of semicircle E of radius 9/2 = πr^2/2 = π/2 (9/2)^2= 81π/8

Area of circle D of radius 9/4 = (πr2) = π(9/4)^2= 81π/16

Area of semicircle A of radius 3/2 = πr^2/2 = π/2 (3/2)^2= 9π/8

Area of shaded region = 81π/8 - 81π/16 - 9π/8
= 162π−81π−18π/16 = 63π/16

Take π = 22/7

Therefore, 63π16
= 63/16 ×22/7 = 9∗11/8 = 99/8 = 12.375 cm2

hope this helps you
