Question 1 :-

If x + 5 = 7 , then 2x - 3 = ?

Solution :-

→ x + 5 = 7 ..........(1)

→ 2x - 3 = ? .........(2)

Take 5 to RHS

→ x = 7 - 5

→ x = 2

Put The value of x in equation 2.

2(2) - 3 = ?

4 - 3 = ?

1 = ?

Question 2 :-

What is the solution of the equation 5x + 5 = - 40

Solution :-

5x + 5 = - 40

Taking 5 to RHS

→ 5x = -40 - 5

→ 5x = -45

→ x = -45/5

→ x = -9

Question 3 :-

If 0.5 y = 1.5 , find y

Solution :-

0.5y = 1.5

→ Take 0.5 to RHS

→ y = 1.5/0.5

→ y = 3

Question 4 :-

Check if p = 4 is the solution of 1(p + 3)/2 = 7

Solution :-

 \sf{ \frac{1}{2}(p + 3) = 7..........(1) }

Put p as 4 and if we get 7 then 4 is p if not then it is not solution.

 \sf{→ \frac{1}{2}(4 + 3) = 7 } \\  \\  \sf{→  \frac{1}{2} \times 7  = 7 } \\  \\  \sf{→3.5 ≠ 7}

Question 5 :-

If (x + 2.4)/2 = 3 then find x.

Solution :-

Take 2 to RHS

→ x + 2.4 = 3 * 2

→ x + 2.4 = 6

→ x = 6 - 2.4

→ x = 3.6
