Question➡️⤵️

  • a concave mirror having its radius of curvatune 30 cm . if an object of size 2cm is placed in front of the mirror . find the position , nature & size so obtained at a distance of 40cm?

Answer➡️⤵️

Explanation➡️⤵️

✴️ Given ,

✴️ Radius of curvature , R = 30cm

✴️ Object distance , u = 40cm

✴️ Object height , ho = 2 cm

✴️The focal length of the mirror , f = -R/2 = -15

From mirror equation ,

✴️ 1/v + 1/u = 1/f

✴️ ==> 1/v + 1/-30 = 1/-15

✴️ ==> v = 30cm

The magnification , M = -v/u

✴️ ==> - -30/-30

✴️ ==> 1

Hence the image is inverted, enlarged, real and its size is 2 × 1 = 2cm
