Let the no. of pencils be x . Thn no. of pens 40-x ...Thn acc. 2 ques. no. of pencils = x+5 & no. of pens = 35-x

x+5 = 4(35-x)

x = 27

No. of pencils = 27 & no. of pens = 40-27 = 13......
