Required Answer:-

Given:

  • The difference between 2y and x is equal to average of x and y.

To find:

  • The value of y/x.

Solution:

Given that,

 \rm \implies 2y - x =  \dfrac{x + y}{2}

 \rm \implies 2(2y - x )=x + y

 \rm \implies 4y - 2x =x + y

 \rm \implies 4y - y =x + 2x

 \rm \implies 3y= 3x

 \rm \implies  \dfrac{ \cancel{3}y}{ \cancel{3}x}  = 1

 \rm \implies  \dfrac{y}{x}  = 1

Hence, the value of y/x is 1.

Answer:

 \rm \implies  \dfrac{y}{x}  = 1
