Given :

  • Volume of hydrogen in cylinder = 9L
  • pressure at which hydrogen is kept = 10 atm
  • Pressure of balloon = 2 atm
  • Volume of one balloon = 1 L
  • Temperature is constant

To find :

Number of balloon (n) that can be filled from cylinder.

Solution :

At constant temperature, we will use

  • Pressure × Volume = Constant

\sf \implies \: P_1 \times V_1 \:  =  \: n \: \times  \: P_2 \times V_2

\sf \implies \: 10  \: atm \times 9 \: L\:  =  \: n \: \times  \: 2 \: atm \times 1 \: L

\sf \implies \:90 \:  =  \: n \: \times  \: 2

\sf \implies \:  \: n =  \:  \dfrac{90}{2}

\sf \implies \:  \: n = \bold{45}

ANSWER :

Number of balloon (n) filled = 45
