d = 28 cm

r = 14 cm

Volume of a cone,

1/3 \pi r^2 h = 9856

\pi r^ h = 29568

r^h = 29568 * 7/22

r^h = 9408

(14)^2 * h = 9408

196 * h - 9408

h = 9408/196

h = 48 cm

Now the slant height of the cone,

l =  \sqrt{h^2 + r^2}

l =  \sqrt{48^2 + 14^2}

l =  \sqrt{2304 + 196}

l =  \sqrt{2500}

l = 50cm

Now the curved surface area,

= \pi r l

= 22/7 * 14 * 50

= 2200 cm^2

Given Volume of a cone = 9856cm^3.

Given Diameter of base = 28cm.

Then radius = 14cm.

We know that volume of cone = 1/3pir^2h.

9856 = 1/3 * (22/7) * (14)^2 * h

9856 = 1/3 * 22/7 * 14 * 14 * h

h = 9856 * 3 * 7/22 * 196

h = 206976/4312

h =  48cm.

Therefore the height of the cone = 48cm.

Slant height of the cone l^2 = h^2 + r^2

                                                = 48^2 + 14^2

                                                = 2304 + 196

                                                = 2500

                                          l = 50cm.

(ii)

We know that curved surface area of the cone = pirl

                                                                               = 22/7 * 14 * 50

                                                                                = 2200cm^2.

Therefore the curved surface area of the cone = 2200cm^2.

Hope this helps!
