(7-2y)/6 = (2y+4)/3

Cross multiply

3(7-2y) = 6(2y+4)

Solve brackets

21-6y = 12y +24

-6y - 12 y = 24 - 21

Collect like terms Subtract

18y= 3

Divide both sides by - 18

Solution

y =3/18

y = 1/6
