Given :-

u = -25 cm

f = 10 cm

 h_o = 5 cm

To find :-

The size and the nature of the image formed.

Solution:-

  • By using lens formula,

 \huge \boxed{\dfrac{1}{f }=\dfrac{1}{v}- \dfrac{1}{u}}

 \dfrac{1}{10}= \dfrac{1}{v}- \dfrac{1}{(-25)}

 \dfrac{1}{10}= \dfrac{1}{v}-\dfrac{-1}{25}

 \dfrac{1}{10}= \dfrac{1}{v}+\dfrac{1}{25}

 \dfrac{1}{v}= \dfrac{1}{10}-\dfrac{1}{25}

 \dfrac{1}{v}= \dfrac{5 -2}{50}

 \dfrac{1}{v}= \dfrac{3}{50}

 v = \dfrac{50}{3}cm

Now,

  • By using magnification formula.

 \huge \boxed{\dfrac{h_i}{h_o}= \dfrac{-v}{-u}}

 \dfrac{h_i}{5}= \dfrac{-\dfrac{50}{3}}{-25}

\dfrac{h_i}{5}=\dfrac{-50}{-75}

 \dfrac{h_i}{5}= \dfrac{2}{3}

 h_i = \dfrac{10}{3}
