Subtract:-

(i) 4a+5b from 8a+7b

(ii) 3m-4n from 2m+5n

________________________

ANSWER:–

(i) 8a+7b-(4a+5b)

*As the sign outside the bracket is negative, the signs inside the bracket will change

=>8a+7b-4a-5b

Rearranging them:-

=>8a-4a+7b-5b

=>4a+2b

Taking common:-

==> 2(2a+b)

(ii) 2m+5n-(3m-4n)

*As the sign outside the bracket is negative, the signs inside the bracket will change

=>2m+5n-3m+4n

Rearranging them:-

=>2m-3m+5n+4n

==> -m+9n
